General Information
  • The Union School is a Sunday school program for children and parents of Catholic and Jewish interfaith families. Classes meet on Sunday mornings twice a month on the campus of St. Raymond de Penafort in Mount Prospect.  Students from kindergarten through 8th grade are taught in age-appropriate classrooms, with fully developed Catholic and Jewish interfaith curriculum for each grade level.
  • Classes are taught by parents on a rotating schedule. Parent participation is one of the most rewarding benefits of Family School!
  • While children are in class, all parents not teaching participate in an adult education program. Many sessions feature knowledgeable speakers on a variety of Catholic, Jewish, interfaith or intermarriage topics.
  • The school is supported and advised by Jewish and Catholic clergy.

  • If you prefer a downtown location, the Family School is our sister school that meets in Chicago on the campus of Old St. Patrick’s Church, one block east of I-90/94. Founded in 2005, the Union School is based on the model and curriculum originally created by the Family School.
